Overview of a Proofreading Test
Designed to test an individual’s ability to recognise spelling and grammar errors from a sample of text. Candidates are shown a sample of text selected by the administrator (four subjects are available) and the words tested are those you would reasonably expect to use within a professional role. At Fundamental level candidates are required to highlight only the spelling and grammar errors. At Core and Professional levels candidates are also required to demonstrate their more advanced proofreading skill and type corrections for the grammatical errors identified.
Four subjects available are: Advertorial | Management | Customer Relations | Sport.
Persons such as proofreaders, copywriters, editors and writers who need to be able to recognise, identify and correct spelling and grammar errors and typos within a sample of text.
As well as our online proofreading Test, there are several complementary tests that come under the Literacy Skills Tests module:
