What do Aptitude and Cognitive Tests measure?

An Aptitude Test measures general cognitive skills and cognitive ability and are measures of how well candidates are at solving problems and processing information.

Aptitude Tests and Cognitive Ability Tests are deemed more in-depth than some of the basic skill tests.

For almost any role you are recruiting for, a basic level of literacy and/or numeracy is needed. These tests help assess a candidate’s aptitude, attention to detail and their ability to use numbers and language.

The most commonly used Aptitude and Cognitive Ability Tests are Verbal Reasoning Tests and Numerical Reasoning Tests.

How do Aptitude and Cognitive Tests work and why should I use them?

An Aptitude and Cognitive Ability Test looks at problem-solving and logical understanding of a particular skill area such as verbal communication or numerical understanding.

Candidate’s apply their reasoning skills to interpret the information and then use logic to determine the correct answer.

Both tests are ideal ways to help improve your selection within the recruitment process. They can help decide which candidate’s are the best fit for the role. The tests can filter out those who are unsuitable and do not have the core skills required.

To see the tests in action, you can arrange a free demo at a time that suits you. Did you know we offer a large selection of other Skill Tests? For further information view  our complete library of skill tests.
