Aptitude and Cognitive Tests assess a candidate’s logical reasoning

Aptitude Tests and Cognitive Tests  are deemed more in-depth than some of the basic skill tests.

For almost any role you are recruiting for, a basic level of literacy and/or numeracy is needed and these tests help assess a candidate’s aptitude, attention to detail and their ability to use numbers and language.

How do Aptitude Tests and Cognitive Tests work?

These tests look at problem-solving, understanding and logic in a particular skill area such as verbal or numerical.

Candidate’s apply their reasoning skills to interpret the information and then use logic to find out the correct answer.

What do Aptitude Tests and Cognitive Tests measure?

Aptitude Tests measure general cognitive ability and are a measure of how well candidates are at solving problems and processing information.

What is cognitive ability?

Cognitive abilities are brain-based skills we need to carry out any task from the simplest to the most complex.

They have more to do with the mechanisms of how we learn, remember, problem-solve, and pay attention, rather than with any actual knowledge.

Why use Aptitude Tests and Cognitive Tests?

Both tests are ideal ways to improve your selection within the recruitment process.

They can help decide which candidate’s are the best fit for the role by filtering out those who are unsuitable, that do not showcase the core skills required.

Choosing Aptitude Tests and Cognitive Tests
The most commonly used Aptitude and Cognitive Tests include Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. Both of our tests have progressive difficulty, with questions becoming harder as a candidate progresses through the test.
